The Hague Convention on International Child Abductions
The Hague Convention of October 25, 1980 on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction aims to help solve the illegal abduction of children and retention across international border, without the consent of the "custodial" parent (as defined in the Convention). This Convention establishes guidelines of cooperation between the signatory countries, in order to enable abducted children to return to their countries of origin.
Our office provides legal counsel for clients in situations of illegal kidnappings of children across international borders. This is done by petitioning the relevant courts, in Israel or abroad, through contacts that specialize in this field. In the past, our firm has successfully represented the interests of both parents and minors before the relevant judicial bodies including Israel’s Supreme Court.
